Kendrick Lamar/ Old School Common Type Beat- "Dog Days" (PROD. BYZANTINE BEATS)

I'm not sure what to make of this beat - but, I like it. I've listened to it several times while writing and it's relaxing. It's a nice change of pace from the hard mix of dubstep and hip-hop. Be sure to check out the producer's YouTube channel and give a shout-out if you use this beat to create your Masterpiece.

SHYNE PO ADDRESSES KENDRICK LAMAR'S ALBUM

SHYNE PO ADDRESSES KENDRICK LAMAR'S ALBUM

Before you watch this video, keep this thought in mind: There are many superb rappers and singers out there who are just as talented as many of the superstars you see on TV and hear on the radio. But, they don't get airplay or become well-known because of several reasons...

One: They don't have the connections.
Two: They don't have a first class public relations or marketing team.
Three: They aren't hustling hard enough to get their name and talent out there.
Four: They don't have catchy hooks or a "nice" chorus.
And finally: They don't have nice beats and/or melodies on their tracks.

In this video, Shyne gives his personal opinion of what he thinks about Kendrick Lamar's Album. Don't get caught up in the "he's hatin'" B.S. Shyne admits that Kendrick is "nice" with his lyrics. But, what is important (to Shyne and many others - including dancers and party-goers) is music with hot tracks. Even if the music isn't a club-banger, the beats, melodies, and instrumentals you choose to sing or rap to need to represent a specific vibe. It doesn't matter if you're Pop, RnB, Hip Hop, Country, Rock, Neo-Soul, whatever. Use music that represents your style and delivery or the message that you're trying to get across.
